Go Down, Moses
Tune: traditional
When Israel was in Egypt’s land,
“Let my people go!”
Oppressed so hard they could not stand,
“Let my people go!”
Chorus:
Go down, Moses, way down in Egypt’s land.
Tell Old Pharaoh,
“Let my people go!”
Thus says the Lord, bold Moses said
”Let my people go!”
If not, I’ll smite your first-born dead
Let my people go!”
Your foes shall not before you stand,
”Let my people go!”
And you’ll possess ole’ Canaan’s Land
”Let my people go!”
God Told Moses
Tune: Did you Ever See a Lassie?
God told Moses, “Take my people,
From Pharaoh, he’s evil!”
God told Moses, “Take my people,
From Pharaoh right now!”
So Moses told Pharaoh,
“The Israelites must go.”
But old Pharaoh, he said,
“Oh no! They’re staying with me!”
God sent frogs and lice and locusts,
And flies and diseases.
Finally Pharaoh changed his mind,
When his firstborn son died.
So Pharaoh told Moses,
“Take God’s people! Please go!”
So the Israelites were free,
To go worship the Lord.”
10 Plagues

The river turned to blood,
Frogs everywhere,
Lice crawled on everyone,
And flies in their hair.
The cows all died,
Sores on their skin,
Hail fell from the sky,
And locusts ate the plants.
Darkness for three days,
Then the firstborn died,
Pharaoh said, “Get out of here!”
And then he changed his mind.
Ten Plagues on the Land

1 plague, 2 plagues, 3 plagues on the land.
4 plague, 5 plagues, 6 plagues on the land.
7 plague, 8 plagues, 9 plagues on the land.
Ten plagues on the land.
First came blood in the Nile,
Second came frog by the mile.
Third came lice for awhile,
These were the plagues on the land.
Number four was buzzing flies
5th the Pharaoh’s livestock dies.
6th came boils of every size.
These were plagues on the land.
Number 7 was fire and hail,
8th came locust over hill and dale.
9th came darkness like a veil.
These were plagues on the land.
The saddest plague was the first born died.
Pharaoh’s people cried and cried.
Pharaoh let God’s people go.
Because of the plagues on the land.
