The Beatitudes
Tune: Mulberry Bush
By Amanda Wilson
Blessed are the poor in spirit,
poor in spirit, poor in spirit,
Blessed are the poor in spirit,
They’ll have the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who morn,
those who morn, those who morn,
Blessed are those who morn,
For they will find comfort.
Blessed are the humble and meek,
humble and meek, humble and meek,
Blessed are the humble and meek,
They will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst,
hunger and thirst for righteousness,
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst,
For they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
the merciful, the merciful,
Blessed are the merciful,
For they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
pure in heart, pure in heart,
Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
peacemakers, peacemakers,
Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they’re God’s children.
Blessed are the persecuted,
persecuted, persecuted,
Blessed are the persecuted,
They’ll have the kingdom of heaven.
The Giving Song (Matt. 5:42)
Tune: Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
Give to him who asks of you,
And to him who would
Borrow from you.
Do not turn him away!
Matthew five – forty-two,
Give to him who asks of you,
Give to him who asks of you.
Ask Him (Matt 7:7)
Tune: When the Roll is Called Up Yonder
If you ask it will be given you,
And seeking you will find.
If you‘ll knock it will be opened unto you.
For your Father up in heaven,
Will hear and answer prayer,
If you ask in Jesus name and His will do.
He will hear us when we ask Him.
He will hear us when we ask Him.
He will hear us when we ask Him.
If we’ll ask in Jesus name and His will do.
I Am the Vine
Tune: hymn, public domain
By Knowles Shaw
*note: language modernized
I am the vine and you are the branches,
Bear precious fruit for Jesus today.
Branches in Him,
No fruit ever bearing,
Jesus has said, “He takes it away”.
Chorus:
I am the vine and you are the branches,
I am the vine, be faithful and true!
Ask what you will,
Your prayers shall be granted,
The Father loved Me,
So I have loved you.
Little Ones
Tune: Brahm’s Lullaby
Let them come, one by one,
Let the children come near me,
Bring them here now, very near,
They are very, very dear.
Little ones, I love you,
God your Father does, too.
Up in heaven it is true,
There are children like you.
This is My Commandment
Tune: hymn (public domain)
This is My commandment,
That you love one another,
That your joy may be full.
That your joy may be full!
That your joy may be full!
This is My commandment,
That you love one another,
That your joy may be full.
