Jesus himself expected and cherished praise from the tiniest of children in Matthew 21:15-16.

“‘Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies
    you have prepared praise’?”

Joy to the World

Tune: hymn, public domain

Joy to the world, the Lord is come
Let Earth receive her King
Let every heart prepare Him room
And Heaven and nature sing
And Heaven and nature sing
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing

Joy to the Earth, the Savior reigns
Let all their songs employ
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy

He rules the world with truth and grace
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness
And wonders of His love
And wonders of His love
And wonders, wonders, of His love

Keep on Singing

Out of the mouth of babies,

You will have praise.

Of All the Creatures

I know the Lord has made us all,

made us all, made us all,

God will love us, one and all,

And we praise Him!

To God Be the Glory

Tune: hymn by Fanny Crosby, public domain

To God be the glory
Great things He has done
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin
And opened the life-gate that all may go in

Let the earth hear His voice
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord
Let the people rejoice.

O come to the Father
Through Jesus the Son
And give Him the glory
Great things He has done
Oh yes

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Praise Songs for Kids

What is praise and worship for kids?

Jesus delighted in children and instructed us to become like them.  Through song, we can teach our children to worship the Creator who made them by praising his awesome name with heartfelt, active adoration.  Even little ones can lift their voices to sing to bring God glory and honor.  As the Word says in Proverbs 20:11, “even a child is known by his acts whether his conduct is pure and upright.”

What makes a good praise song?

A good praise song honors and glorifies our Father in heaven through joyful adoration for his goodness.  A great praise song for kids will also be engaging and repetitive with a memorable melody and simple rhythm.  Songs of praise help children recognize the wonderful attributes of God and how he is worthy of our praise.

Why should kids praise God?

God is worthy of our praise because he made us and sustains us.  Little children should praise God because he created them, he loves them, and he cares for them every day.  They praise him for his goodness and his loving-kindness.
