Why These Gift Guides Are Different

As a Christian mom, I want gift-giving to be more than just checking a box. The toys and tools we place in our children’s hands shape how they see the world, how they learn, how they spend their time, and what they come to value. I’m careful to choose gifts that don’t just follow the trends and do what the world is doing but help my kids discover who it is that God created them to be.

That’s why my guides focus on:

  • Screen-free play
  • STEM learning & hands-on exploration
  • Creativity, imagination & storytelling
  • Outdoor discovery & movement
  • Wholesome, long-lasting toys
  • Gifts that inspire curiosity about God’s creation
  • Books & faith-building tools

Each list is intentionally curated so you can shop confidently, knowing you’re choosing gifts that build character, skills, and wonder – not just quick entertainment.

Books & Bibles

If you’ve been a part of my community for any length of time, you already know that I’m a big believer in the power of reading and intentionally passing down our faith. So, you can always find books wrapped up underneath our Christmas tree each year. What about you?

If you’re not sure where to find good, clean titles that are age-appropriate, just download my simple book guide for grades 1-5 – it’s a printable list with all the titles in one place. Books are grouped by grade levels – and they’re all clean, wholesome titles your kids will love.

Gifts That Strengthen Their Faith

Bibles and Bible story books also make wonderful, meaningful gifts for our kids. We want our kids to know and love scripture and hold all the old, old stories near and dear to their hearts. Nothing accomplishes that more than reading and rereading treasured stories in their very own Bible.

Our go-to Bible translation is the NIRV for beginning readers (yep – that R is for Reader’s because it’s easy to read!) and we switch to the ESV or NASB in late elementary when big kids are reading fluently and ready for something more. So, check out my guide for Bible story books and Bibles just right for every age to encourage their faith this season.
