I’m Maestra Mom, a former elementary public school teacher turned homeschool mom. Otherwise known as Maestra to my little bilingual students at school, Mom to the four munchkins in my home, and Amanda to my friends.
And that includes you. I’m so glad you stopped by!
I'm a teacher. And I'm a Mom.
I love children and my passion is teaching.
I’ve taught in schools, homeschool co-ops, Bible camps, and Bible class. Just now, I get to be a stay-at-home mom, but I’ve worked full-time and part-time, too, so I know what it is like to balance work & family!
I believe in a robust, engaging education for all children, whether that occurs within the walls of a public school or homeschool. I’m also a Christian who boldly proclaims Jesus and believes in leading little ones to his light!
It takes all of us working together as mothers and teachers to educate our children.

After leaving public schools to homeschool my kids, I have become a passionate advocate of homeschooling. But when I first made the decision to switch, I was pretty lost. Thankfully, I had several veteran homeschool moms who took me by the hand and helped me out.
