Exercise Hymn
Tune: Blest Be the Tie That Binds

We sit while the message you bring,
We bow as we worship, in heavenly friendship,
We kneel as we pray to our King.
* Repeat, getting faster each time.

Many sons had Father Abraham.
I am one of them, and so are you.
So, let’s all praise the Lord.
Right arm!
*Repeat song and add body parts with each verse:
Right arm, left arm,
right foot, left foot,
nod your head, turn around, sit down!
Here is the Church
Tune: Chanted or can be sung to Mary Had a Little Lamb
Here is the church.
Here is the steeple.
Open the doors
And see all the people.
Close the doors
And hear them pray.
Open the doors,
And they all fly away.
* 1st verse: Begin with hands folded together with fingers inside fist. Pop up index fingers to make steeple. Open thumbs and wiggle fingers inside fists to show the people in the church.
* 2nd verse: Close thumbs to close doors. Straighten fingers into prayer hands. Spread hands apart and wiggle fingers.
Hokey Pokey Jesus Song
Tune: Hokey Pokey
You put your right arm in,
Put your right arm out,
Put your right arm in and you shake it all about,
If you give your heart to Jesus,
He will turn your life around,
That’s what it’s all about!
* Replace words “right arm “with other body parts
I Love You Lord – Action Song
Tune: The Farmer in the Dell
By Amanda Wilson
Touch your finger to your nose.
Bend your waist and touch your toes.
Spin around and wave a shoe.
Then say, “I Love you!”
I love you, Lord!
I love you, Lord!
Reach up high and blink your eyes.
I love you, Lord!
* Do the actions as you sing the words. Do sign language for “I Love You” and point to sky for “Lord”
I’m Inright, Outright
Tune: traditional
I’m inright, outright, upright, downright
Happy all the time. (Clap, clap)
I’m inright, outright, upright, downright
Happy all the time. (Clap, clap)
Since Jesus Christ came in
and took away my sin,
I’m inright, outright, upright, downright
Happy all the time. (Clap, clap)
* Repeat and sing faster and faster each time.
I’m in the Lord’s Army
Tune: traditional
I may never march in the infantry,
Ride in the cavalry,
Shoot the artillery,
I may never fly o’er the enemy,
But I’m in the Lord’s army.
I’m in the Lord’s army! (Yes,sir!)
I’m in the Lord’s army! (Yes,sir!)
I may never march in the infantry,
Ride in the cavalry,
Shoot the artillery,
I may never fly o’er the enemy,
But I’m in the Lord’s army.
Little Red Box
Tune: Zacchaeus
If I had a a little red box
to put my good friends in,
I’d take them out and kiss-kiss-kiss
and put them back again.
If I had a little red box
to put my bad friends in,
I’d take them out and pray for them
and put them back again.
If I had a little red box
to put the devil in,
I’d take him out and spank-spank-spank
and put him back again.
If I had a little red box
to put my Jesus in,
I’d take him out and love him dear
and never put Him back again.
My Hands
Tune: Mulberry Bush
On my head my hands I’ll place,
On my shoulders, on my face.
On my knees and by my side,
Then behind me they will hide.
Now I’ll raise them up so high,
Let my fingers fly, fly, fly.
Then I’ll clap them 1-2-3.
Se how quiet they can be.
Open Them, Shut Them
Tune: finger-play rhyme, chanted
Open them, shut them,
Open them, shut them,
Give a little clap.
Open them, shut them,
Fold them and put them in your lap.
Open then, shut them,
Fold your hands to pray
Bow your head and close your eyes,
And this is what we’ll say.
* Hold up 10 fingers. Open hands and close hands as indicated. Do other actions.
Put Your Bottom in the Chair
Tune: If You’re Happy and You Know It
by Amanda Wilson
Put your bottom in the chair, in the chair.
Put your bottom in the chair, in the chair.
Put your bottom in the chair,
And then leave it there,
Put your bottom in the chair, in the chair.
Put your feet on the floor, on the floor.
Put your feet on the floor, on the floor.
Put your feet on the floor,
And don’t go out the door,
Put your feet on the floor, on the floor.
Put your hands in your lap, in your lap.
Put your hands in your lap, in your lap.
Put your hands in your lap,
And don’t the table tap,
Put your hands in your lap, in your lap.
Read Your Bible
Tune: Mary Had a Little Lamb
Read your Bible, pray everyday,
pray every day, pray everyday.
Read your Bible, pray every day,
and you’ll grow, grow, grow.
Don’t read your Bible, don’t ever pray
don’t ever pray, don’t ever pray;
Don’t read your Bible, don’t ever pray
and you’ll shrink, shrink, shrink.
Read your Bible, pray everyday,
pray every day, pray everyday.
Read your Bible, pray every day,
and you’ll grow, grow, grow.
*1 Begin in a squatting position indicating a book, then switching to hands folding as in prayer as you sing. Slowly stand while singing “grow, grow, grow”.
*2 Wipe hands against each other, and then slowly returning to squatting position as you sing “shrink, shrink, shrink”.
*3 Repeat motions for verse 1.
Tiny Little Daisy
Tune: I’m a Little Teapot
by C. Harold Lowden
Tiny little daisy, tell me true
What did God the Father
Do for you?
He made the rain and the sunshine, too.
And that is how I
Grew and grew and grew.
* Pass out a daisy to each child. Start off squatting. Make rain hands then circle arms for sunshine. Go from squatting to standing as you sing last line.
Wrapped Up
Tune: traditional
I’m all wrapped up, I’m all tied up,
I’m all tangled up in Jesus.
I’m all wrapped up, I’m all tied up,
I’m all tangled up in God.
I’m all wrapped up, I’m all tied up,
I’m all tangled up in Jesus.
I’m all wrapped up, tied up, tangled up in God.
